What is Artvigil?
How does this drug get into action?
Artvigil contains chiefly Armodafinil, a key component for treating narcolepsy, sleep apnea, and OSA. It significantly gets into action by firing up the brain, making the patient more alert and wakeful. As a result, the brain also gets help in raising the rate of breathing in the body.
Who must not consume Artvigil?
Artvigil is not recommended for people who have a recent history of myocardial infarction and mitral valve prolapse. In addition to this, there's left ventricular hypertrophy too! People who have angina, depression, and cardiac ischemia are also strictly prohibited from consuming Armodafinil.

The medicine could be taken with or without food and must be continued for up to 12 weeks.
This medicine might impair the patient's thinking or reacting abilities, so the Artvigil drug must not be taken for a longer duration. One must follow all the directions as prescribed by the doctor. Artvigil is a habit-forming drug, and thus, it must not be taken longer or shorter than what is recommended.
What happens in overdosage of this drug?
If a person overdoses for Artvigil drug, he must contact the ER or the local poison control center. The body tends to show various symptoms of overdose like wheezing, fever, itching, bad cough. He experiences chest tightness. The person also might notice blue or gray skin color and seizures. Other symptoms are swollen lips, face, throat, and tongue, depression, anxiety, mood swings, sleeplessness, and nausea.

In case a patient misses a dose, he must take the missed dose as soon as possible. However, he must not consume the missed dose if the next dose is near. Never take a double dose or an extra dose!
One must keep in mind to restart the doses from the next day at the proper fixed timing. Do consult a doctor if there occurs any issues after missing a dose.
Can a person consume Artvigil in psychological illness?

Armodafinil has serious interaction with almost 35 drugs and moderates with more than 300 other drugs. It might show complications in the case of some herbal products, food supplements, and other over-the-counter medicines. Do birth control pills affect while being on Artvigil dosage?

Can this drug be taken in pregnancy?
One must avoid taking Artvigil during pregnancy due to the risk factor for the fetus. However, the adverse effects are not well known, but consulting the doctor and one's gynecologist is pretty much important for the same!
Breastfeeding women, however, must not intake this medicine due to the potential drug excretion in human milk, as per the studies. On accidental consumption in that case, immediately contact the doctor!
